Meet Dates

WEST WALES FARMERS BLOODHOUNDS 2011/12 SEASON

What we are attempting this season again, is a Star Rating to our Meets, in which there is something for everyone...............

1 *  - These are Children's Meets, suitable for lead rein and also children off lead rein.(approx. 3 miles as hounds run, with shorter option for lead reins )

2 *  - Between 4 - 7 miles, all jumping ( if any) optional. Short runs, ideal for young horses or less confident riders.

3 * - Opening/Closing Meets with day covering between 7 - 10 miles. Each line may be up to 1.5 miles with lots of jumps. Suitable for more experienced riders, but for which there will be assistance, for the less experienced. All jumping is optional.

4 * - BIG HEDGE DAYS, with the day averaging between 8 /12 miles some compulsory jumping, faster pace with Field having to keep up with Field Masters,  minimal assistance. These meets have restricted numbers and people wishing to hunt these days should contact Masters to check availablilty.

Building on the success of our first three seasons we are currently arranging this seasons 2011/12 meets based on the best and most popular. Also, we lost  some of our better meets last year due to ice and snow, hence we are planning our Meets monthly, at a time.

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda

During the dark, damp and frozen days of January, we will be meeting in villages that have not had a Hunt Meet for many years.

It is one of our aims to retain and re-establish areas that are viable for hunting.

We will be running one or two lines with hounds but other lines may not be hunted or run without hounds, to regain the trust of the farmers and landowners.

Consequently, cap will be reduced for these January Meets.

These meets are ideal for the first time horses or riders.
